Fortemedia inc., a privately held California based voice-processing company, announces the latest version for their popular FM1073 echo and noise canceller, FM1073V23. The new AMBIN algorithm is a breakthrough technology enabling full duplex speakerphone functionality on a credit card sized handheld device. The AMBIN FM1073V23 is optimized for a two-microphone array configuration and it combines our beam-forming technology for the shortest distance (typical 4.5cm) between microphone and speaker. As a result of its superior echo cancellation performance and beamforming, user’s voice can be captured from 4 or 5 meters away!

To suppress non-linear echo, FM1073V23 is equipped with AMBIN Filter consisting of Big Echo Cancellation process, Post Filter and Frequency Domain non-linear filter. These techniques have greatly improved the full-duplex performance while suppressing non-linear echo compared to other non-linear filters. The AMBIN Filter automatically adapts to placement changes for the loudspeaker and microphones as well as the position of the user, therefore allowing very short adaptation time to echo path changes.

To validate the optimized algorithms, Fortemedia provides the AMBIN FM1073V23 based Bluetooth Reference Design (AMBIN BLUE) to qualified customers. With two microphones and speaker encapsulated in a compact 6 by 10.0 cm enclosure, the small footprint AMBIN Blue reference design is ideal for Hands-Free Car Kit or personal speaker/conference phone applications.
