Cupertino, Calif., May 10th, 2005
– Fortemedia, Inc. today announces FM1093, a state-of-the-art
DSP platform for the latest in voice-processing technologies. FM1093,
with small array microphone beam-forming capabilities, supports
Fortemedia’s 16kHz echo cancellation and noise suppression
software. Along with features such as voice recognition, FM1093
is ideal for leading edge applications in VoIP and video speakerphones,
Bluetooth enabled speakerphones, and automotive hands-free car kits.
To enable a better user experience for VoIP communications, service
providers are upgrading to wide-band audio (G.722 standard). At
the same time, telematics and infotainment manufacturers in the
automotive industry continually look to improve the hands-free experience
for their customers.
“Consumers today demand higher quality in their voice interface
applications,” says Paul Huang, CEO of Fortemedia. “To
enable our customers to meet these demands, we developed the FM1093.
16kHz processing allows designers to take full advantage of the
higher bandwidth in VoIP, while small array microphone beam-forming
capabilities dramatically reduce noise in the car cabin. A tier
one telecommunications provider is already using the FM1093 solution
today to power a VoIP speakerphone.”
FM1093 is a highly integrated solution with DSP, CODECs, RAM, and
industry standard interfaces. With the AMBIN V31 software, FM1093
delivers up to 60dB of acoustic echo cancellation performance and
up to 20dB of non-stationary noise suppression, which greatly increase
voice recognition rates. Other features include the patent pending
AMBIN HyperSampling technology for enhanced full-duplex, dedicated
non-linear filters for non-linear echo cancellation, and dynamic
range control.
Availability
The FM1093 device in a 48-pin LQFP package is available in production
volume today, along with the AMBIN V31 echo cancellation and noise
suppression software. Voice recognition software for the FM1093
will be available in Q3 2005.
