The FM1072LP is a highly-integrated single-chip solution with industry-leading echo cancellation and noise suppression performance. Optimized for Internet Telephony and hands free telephone applications, the FM1072LP not only enables the traditional telephone to work as a speaker phone, but also provides a USB audio interface so the telephone can connect to a networked device, such as a PC, for VoIP capability. This requires no PC drivers. As a standalone solution, the device can also enable PC USB speakerphone applications.

Other features include an integrated class D audio amplifier to increase the power efficiency (500mW peak), save space, and save overall costs. To increase intelligibility and enhance the full duplex performance, dynamic range control and bi-directional noise suppression (for both microphone input and line input) features are also included in the FM1072LP. As with other voice processor family members, the FM1072LP supports a very short distance of 4cm between the microphone and the speaker, even while the speaker is delivering a throughput of 120 dB. For Bluetooth applications, the FM1072LP provides a serial port that supports interfacing to all formats.
The FM1072LP provides a highly-integrated single-chip solution featuring a DSP core, A/D, D/A, ROM, RAM, power regulators, a hardware accelerator, UART, Serial Host Interface, and a serial port (linear PCM) along with the patent-pending embedded echo cancellation algorithm.
